Underwater Tidal Power

Tidal power is a new power developed by mechanical engineers. Based on the change in sea levels caused by the gravitational effects of the moon, combined with the Earth’s rotation allows power to be to be generated. The power created is created in power plants that consist of tidal fences, barrage tidal plants, and tidal turbines. Although these power plants vary slightly in setup the newest generation of underwater turbines are on either a horizontal or vertical axis. These use the kinetic energy of the tides along with the potential energy of the rise and fall of the sea level. These new turbines are projected to generate the same amount of power as three nuclear power plants. Although this new technology seems to be the new solution to the energy issues of the world, these farms are expensive to build and more expensive to maintain over time.
