The blog “Cherryleaf” has a blog post about how old your readers truly are. The main takeaway from this blog is that popular websites like CNN, the Time, and BCC all have readers that are very young ages. This is a problem because a lot of websites use language that is far too advanced for the age of readers. The point of this blog post was to remind people that not everyone reading the blog will be of the same reading level and vocabulary understanding. My favorite line from this blog post is “Even if your readers are much, much older than eleven, it may be a good idea to pretend they are.” This really stuck with me and helped remind me that your information and work should be readable and understandable by people.
